Riding Instructors
Hillary and Courtney Carlson of Columbus, Ohio, are the hunter/jumper instructors at the facility. Their extensive backgrounds coupled with a strong desire to see their students improve has been the key to their long lasting success. Hillary and Courtney believe that continual learning is indeed the key to success in this sport, and are sure to show and participate in clinics themselves.
Hillary Carlson
Our professional, Hillary Carlson, is a 2001 graduate of Columbus College of Art and Design. She has earned a BFA in Fine Arts and a minor in Art History.
Hillary has been riding since she was six and teaching for 14 years. She has been awarded several champion titles and has shown innumerable times at the most prestigious shows in the country in both the hunters and jumpers. She also has a strong background in dressage and eventing and was an accomplished pony clubber.
Hillary has trained and also still clinics with the sport's renowned trainers and olympians such as Pam Graham, Chuck Waters, Anne Kursinski, Richard Rinehart, Rohanne Froh, Wendy Newby, and Kobi Rhodes; just to name a few. She is a very active member in the Miami Valley Hunt Club and Ohio Welsh Pony Association, and has completed the Equine Breeding Management Course at the Ohio State University of Veterinary Medicine (January 1999).

Courtney Carlson and her mare, Mark This Lark (Markie) Courtney has a BFA from CCAD.
Hillary and Courtney's high level of training and accomplishment is their unique asset in the programs at the stable and in the show ring. Many of Hillary and Courtney's students have won state titles and championships at prominent horse shows. This team of professionals is unsurpassed in their accomplishments and dedication to teaching the sport. They have always had a love for horses and now enjoy teaching both children and adults alike. They feel riding enriches their lives and the lives of their students. A person gains self-confidence, poise, and character when learning to ride. Their greatest reward is seeing their students succeed.
